Orton-Gillingham Red Words

In the PRIDE Reading Program, the students will learn the entire Dolch Sight Word List – how to read and spell each word. We call these the Red Words because you can’t sound them out – you just have to memorize them. I make it fun for my student to learn these words using different Red Word activities that allows her to memorize them easier. In each Orton-Gillingham lesson, students are required to read and comprehend 10 sentences from their Student Workbook. These sentences include the new skill they are learning and also all concepts and red words that they have already mastered. Orton-Gillingham Decodable Stories

With each new skill comes a story to practice the new skill the student is working on but also to practice all the skills they have already mastered! The PRIDE Reading Program provides lovely fun and engaging decodable stories for the kids that also includes a graphic organizer and questions before, during and after the reading for comprehension help.
