The PRIDE Reading Program?
Why Choose PRIDE?
What is the PRIDE Reading Program?
The PRIDE Reading Program is based on scientific research and years of Orton-Gillingham training and teaching experience at PRIDE Learning Center. PRIDE Learning Center is world renowned for our work with students struggling with their reading and spelling due to common language difficulties such as Dyslexia, Auditory and Visual Processing Disorder, Speech Deficits and other Learning Differences.
At PRIDE, we did not invent Orton-Gillingham instruction, but we have put together what we believe is the most effective and user friendly curriculum that for many children, is the only program that will work. We are confident that you will see amazing results with your child!
PRIDE values each student’s individual learning style.
The PRIDE Learning System is research-based and creates independent and confident students. PRIDE Reading Specialists tap into each child’s learning style through our multisensory program by including touch, vision, kinetic and auditory elements. At PRIDE we are proudly committed to each student, each family, and each outcome.
PRIDE students become independent readers and enthusiastic lifelong learners. With PRIDE you will see:
- Improved Reading
- Increased Self-Confidence
- New Found Motivation For Learning
How does the PRIDE Reading Program Work?
PRIDE Reading Program begins with recognition of the letters, the sounds of the letters, and the sounds of letter combinations. PRIDE is structured, systematic and cumulative. This means that, like a pyramid, the base must first be strong enough to support the entire structure.
After your child receives a strong foundation, they are able to start recognizing words using the skills learned. There are nine to ten different lessons per concept in each of the Introduction, Practice and Reinforcement units. That is twenty-seven opportunities to master the skills before moving to the next. Plus, learned concepts are continuously reviewed as you progress forward through the program.
With the PRIDE Reading Program, you will see improved reading, spelling and comprehension and increased self-confidence. While the program works with all students, it is especially successful for students with dyslexia, auditory and visual processing disorder, speech deficits and other learning differences.
